Corpus Callosum
Definition
A flat bundle of nerve fibers that connects the left and right cerebral hemispheres of the brain.
Situated beneth the cortex at the longitudinal fissure
They are commisural fibers interconnecting the parts within the cerebral cortex
Parts of the Corpus Callosum
Genu (14) - anterior - connects prefrontal cortex
Splenium (16) - posterior - connects parietal lobes and visual cortex
Truncus (15) - in between the above two - connects motor cortex
Rostrum (13) - the bent portion downwards from the genu
